About Us


                                
           Lantungan National High School is one of the first,   oldest  and   known barangay   in   the   whole Municipality   of    Aurora, Province  of  Zamboanga del Sur    where    lumads and      some    Christians were the early  settlers  in the barangay. The school aims for quality education & academic excellence. It welcomes   all    students, poor       and     deserving without discrimination as to ethnic backgrounds or religious belief.

It was created in 1968, out of love and understanding by no less than the First Lantungan National High School Principal, Dr. Felipa Ruste. Its enrolment started to increase when the nationalization of all public secondary school was implemented.

The school has an area of 27,085 square meters, located at the heart of barangay Lantungan near Sitio Palo, adjacent to Lantungan Elementary School and east of the Catholic Chapel. It is 250 meters away from the National Highway. It caters the graduates of Lantungan ES, Ignacio Mamac Sr. ES, Cebuneg ES, Lubid ES, Baclay ES and other neighboring barangay elementary schools. It has 12 strong, competent and diligent teachers, a principal  Mr. Florencio R. Caballero, who implements the DepEd programs and a Clerk who gives assistance for the rapid response of the reports.



 

  

           In the later years, Lantungan National High School administration, faculty and staff faced problems to cater the needs of the students. While waiting for the help from the national and local government, they had developed the ground through their own initiatives by utilizing parts of the T.L.E. time with the help of the community people to level the school ground.  But this situation does not hinder the teaching efficiency and effectiveness of teachers, maintaining still the academic standard as manifested by the quality of graduates making waves and honors in the different colleges and other universities. Up to the present, serving as the only neighboring high school in the barangay, teachers are hopeful to harness and improve well in its delivery of teaching to the students with the aid of technology.

      From its humble beginning, Lantungan National High School has been a catalyst of change in peace and development and believes that education is a process of formation that develops in the person the knowledge, skills and orientation needed for a life of dedicated service. It will continuously support DepED’s vision and mission.
